Assistant Professor Saitoh of the Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Science (RIIS) receives the Young Scientist Award from the Protein Science Society of Japan.

The Young Scientist Award of the Protein Science Society of Japan is presented by the society to about 10 young researchers who have made significant contributions to the development of protein science. The Young Scientist Award of the Protein Science Society of Japan for 2022 has been awarded to Assistant Professor Yasunori Saitoh for his research on "Structural basis for silicic acid permeation mechanism by rice silicic acid channel" in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of protein science. Previously, this prize was also awarded to Professor Michi Suga of RIIS.
